Novi Iskar is a town within Sofia Municipality, located along the Iskar River. The climate in the area is typically continental - hot summers, cold winters and sharp temperature amplitudes, and humidity from the nearby river is an additional factor in the choice of durable facade materials.
It is here that Artefino realises a project where the quality of execution is as important as the material itself.
The project covers residential complex of private houses with unusual and eye-catching architecture. The order includes facade cladding with profiles from the Classic series - model AFS C03 in dark coffee colour with sand surface. Sand texture adds warmth and visual depth to the facade, while the dark brown shade accentuates the architectural volumes and lines of the buildings.
The lengths of the profiles have been precisely calculated so that each larger façade element can be covered with one complete profile. So the facade acquires a clean, monolithic appearance, without unwanted line breaks. Behind this detail is careful preparation in advance.
The project raises the technical bar high. The complex geometry and architectural volumes of the buildings necessitate precision work in shaping the protruding corners and window frames. The corner volumes, which are a characteristic feature of the Architecture of the complex, require detailed processing to retain their shape after the cladding is applied.
The joints are staggered and carefully synchronised across the entire façade. Achieving a harmonious rhythm with misaligned joints on this scale requires coordination between Artefino's installation and technical departments from the planning stage.
The cladding is realized with fully concealed installation, no visible screws. The result is a smooth, contemporary surface that looks as one even on closer inspection.
The material used composite wood withstands the temperature fluctuations typical for the Sofia area. It is resistant to frost and icing in winter, as well as direct solar radiation and heat in summer.
The material does not require painting, impregnation or other periodic maintenance. This makes it a rational choice for long-term facade cladding of residential buildings.
The end result in Novi Iskar is a façade that doesn't just cover the wall, but actively forms the character of the complex.
