In the heart of the premium gated residential complex Forest Park in the Bells district of Sofia, designed by arch. Atanas Panov from LP Group, one of the houses is different. While all the other buildings in the complex have flat roofs, this is the only one with a pitched roof - a solution that brings a classic touch to its otherwise contemporary look.
The differences do not stop there. Instead of the decorative composite wood beams typical of the complex, the owner chooses facade cladding in a completely different colour and with a different facade solution.
Despite these significant architectural deviations, thanks to the precise approach and sense of proportions, materials and composition of arch. Panov, the house is implemented in an impressively natural way among the others.
At first glance, it fits perfectly harmoniously into the complex, and the differences only reveal themselves upon closer inspection of the details. This is proof of the high level of architecturally craftsmanship and holistic thinking in the project, which together with Artefino achieved architectural harmony.
The class project Forest Park is a premium gated residential complex in Sofia. The location has a typical climate for the capital - hot summers, cold winters and periods of high humidity. It is these climatic conditions place serious demands on facade materials. For this particular house, Artefino has carried out three types of installation work: the façade cladding, the decking type „double floor“ on the terraces and facade cladding on walls and ceilings.
For the facade cladding was selected the product AFS L03, Lux series, in colour Teak Lux - Dynamic colour with a wood grain that recreates the look of natural wood as closely as possible. Unlike real wood, the composite material does not rot, crack or turn grey over time.
On the terraces the decking AFD-LM 02 in the colour Teak, Face 2 has been laid and the cladding AFS L03 has also been used on the external walls and ceilings. The other buildings in the complex have Classic series facade beams in the colour Teak Classic - a significant difference that is hardly noticeable at first glance.
The main implementation challenge is related to the described difference. The question is how to achieve visual harmony between the single pitched roof form and all other flat volumes, given that the façade material is also different.
The solution comes from the precise sense of arch. Panov's attention to detail and the quality of Artefino's execution. The installation was realized with attention to every joint and finishing corner - details that ensure not only a good appearance, but also long-term protection of the structure.
The end result is a building that fits organically with the rest of the complex. Visitors to Forest Park rarely notice at first glance that this particular house is different from the others, either in material or volume.
The composite wood façade looks warm and natural, and when maintained it does not require painting, impregnation or periodic treatment. Long-term durability is ensured by the material itself, which is stable under UV irradiation, cold and rain, without deformation and discoloration.
The Forest Park project is a confirmation that the variety of forms and materials in a complex is not an obstacle to a unified architectural vision. The important thing is that the choice of materials and the execution are at the required level.
